Adoptable characters are those that someone has created but they need someone else to play them. They can be family members, friends, or anyone really. To create an adoptable you will create a new thread and fill out the template. If you are only on mobile you will have to use desktop mode or pm staff for an alternate app. Fill out as much or as little as you want, and whoever wants to adopt that character can fill out the rest. All members wanting to adopt a character will need to submit a roleplay sample to make sure they are able to connect with the character and portray them the way the original creator wanted.
ADOPTED CHARACTERS ARE THE INTELECTUAL PROPERTY OF THE ORIGINAL CREATOR. IF THE ADOPTER LEAVES THE SITE THEY CANNOT USE THE CHARACTER ON ANOTHER SITE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS PERMISSION OF THE CREATOR.
Before you can adopt a character you must have at least one character with a minimum of 5 IC post. This is to ensure you are not taking on someone else's character without being able to play your own.
Once you have discussed the adoption and rp sample with the creator if you are both in agreement tag an admin to be sorted. Adoptables do not need a separate application, the adoption form serves as that, but if the creator did not fill out the entire app, or has fields marked "Up to you" Those must be filled and that can be done in a reply to that thread. Once a character is taken they will be moved to the Adopted sub-board and the thread locked. If the character is ever deleted for any reason the original creator has the sole right to pm an admin to ask for the adoptable thread to be moved back for someone else to take.
If the Original creator of an adoptable leaves the site, the adoptor is NOT required to give up the character, but if they delete the character they will not be allowed to remake or put back up for adoption. This is to help protect everyone's property rights.
Once the character is sorted into a group, they can then fill out face claims and such.
Note: This is NOT the place to ask for someone to create a character to fill a role in a plot. If you have a plot in mind and need other characters for it, that request will not in the plot request board found here
